A Reader's Guide to Silverwood Stories
Silverwood Stories collects Jean McKinney’s historical fantasy stories, set loosely in the periods of the American Civil War and the Old West of the early 1870s, plus a few others set in different times.
They’re complete, standalone stories that can be read in any order. Here’s how to find them:
The Sorrows Hill Stories
Set mostly in Civil War era Appalachia and surroundings, these stories of dark magic and intrigue feature characters including the Merchant clan of dread sorcerers, the intrepid healer witch Maddie Cain and the agents of President Lincoln’s Office of Extraordinary Phenomena.
The Borderlands Stories
Set in the lawless borderlands of the American West circa 1870, these stories feature haunted gunslingers, witches and dark magics inspired by legends and tall tales of the Old West.
As new stories appear, they’ll join this list.
